Volunteering

Part of our mission is education, so we welcome volunteers to the farm.

If you live in the Upstate and want to learn more about growing your own food, but don't have a space to do it; want to arrange a work day for yourself, your family, or your organization and get some hands-on experience; or are a friend of the farm and would like to pitch in, we'd be delighted to have you for an hour or an entire day! Volunteers will be fed a good, farm-fresh meal and will go home with tokens of our appreciation in the form of plants, produce, or other farm goods.

The work we do with volunteers is the work we do every day on the farm, so you might be involved in anything from greenhouse work to planting out to weeding, depending on the day of the week. We provide all the training and equipment; all you have to bring is yourself, a pair of gardening gloves, and a good hat for sun protection. (You may also want to bring some bug spray if you're planning on wearing shorts!)

All volunteers are required to complete a brief email form detailing emergency contact information, possible health or allergy concerns, and the like. Unfortunately, we cannot host volunteers who smoke due to plant disease concerns. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We accept long-term volunteers only through the WWOOF-USA program.

We are currently scheduling volunteers on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (no Friday/Saturday hours during the market season).

If this sounds like fun to you, contact us using the subject line "Volunteering" and we'll set something up!

Hello friends, It seems that summer is here to stay this time! Now if only we could get some rain from a passing thunderstorm this weekend, that would be great. The warm-weather herbs are finally star
